holding someone against the cage is another form of lay and pray. Randy did NO damage to Vera. Vera should’ve disengaged from the clinching more often
November 14th, 2009 at 2:36 pm
Randy is not good anymore, he won though…
November 14th, 2009 at 2:37 pm
Sweep the leg!!!

vera threw it away by not listening to his corner
November 14th, 2009 at 3:40 pm
hahahah, another UNANIMOUS ? decision. what the fuck is goin on. These judges are fucked. Randy was trying to run his takedown/wrestling game and Brandon defended the shit out of it and dealt some punishing blows to Randy. He had him hurt and dropped. Then Brandon managed the only takedown of the fight and wasnt damaged at all. Randy was also cut and all that somehow leads to ALL 3 judged giving it to Randy. I feel bad for brandon man. Shitty deal
November 14th, 2009 at 3:50 pm
The WORST decision EVER.
November 14th, 2009 at 4:14 pm
Vera won !!! The judges are fucking cunts, how the fuck does pushing a fighter against the cage for 3 rounds win you a fight. This, along with the shogun decision, is the worse decision I have ever seen, and makes me want to stop watching ufc. Fuck this !!!
November 14th, 2009 at 4:47 pm
The Strikeforce event blew this one out of the water, sorry. I enjoyed the Ross Pearson fight, but not much else… Bisping won dominantly, but I don’t think he has a lot of skill…
November 14th, 2009 at 6:06 pm
of course brandon wons that fight, but he couldnt demonstrate that with more punches or a better ground game when he had it
randy thats it…
November 14th, 2009 at 6:35 pm
Randy Coture is the Best Fighter ever. This was not one of his best though.
November 14th, 2009 at 7:09 pm
Vera: “Thanks judges”
XD
November 14th, 2009 at 8:01 pm
Randy controlled the whole fight…
Vera suck all he did was landed 3 kicks they are no way he should have won this fight…
Coture is the best EVER bottom line………..
November 14th, 2009 at 8:14 pm
brandon was robbed man! they gave it to couture so he can get machida a run for the title.. but he doesn’t deserved it.. Brandon punished Couture with accurate leg kicks and knees to the chest that dropped him down..Brandon defended all Coutures clinch and wrestling..he even put him to the ground. Dana White should look into this ..shall we call this game fixing? i really felt bad about the decision.. went to watch UFC 105 than Pacquiao-Cotto and all we got was a bad decision.
November 14th, 2009 at 9:05 pm
Looks like UFC is turning into another match fixing sports. Looks like judges start making bad calls very often in UFC…
November 14th, 2009 at 9:43 pm
Look, I love Couture. I think he’s a class act and an amazing man. Most mid 40 year old American men are fat and broken down…so I applaud what he’s doing. However, he won this fight based on his name and reputation alone…and that sucks anus.
Clinch game?
We talkin’ bout Clinch game?…right?
Not devastating kicks or knees or punches or takedowns or full mount…
We talkin’ bout Clinch game!
(think Allen Iverson talking about “Practice”)
November 14th, 2009 at 10:56 pm
RANDYYYYYYY!!!!
November 15th, 2009 at 12:25 am
here we go, i knew eventually people would start saying the “UFC judges… blah blah, fixed”
THE REFS AND JUDGES DON’T WORK FOR THE UFC, THEY GET ASSIGNED BY FIGHT COMMISSIONS.
stop blaming the UFC for crappy judges or refs, man that gets old!
November 15th, 2009 at 12:39 am
vera won the fight. he got a knockdown, a takedown and a mount. not to speak ill of randy but all he managed to do was lean on vera. it’s true he dictated the pace for much of the fight, but he wasn’t a threat to vera whereas vera was a threat everytime they seperated. for me it was even up until vera got the takedown and the mount late into the third. that showed that not only was he a superior striker, but also had an answer for couture’s clinch. on top of that, he was getting the upper hand at the end of the fight, whereas couture was fading. good effort for both fighters, but vera won the fight. it sucks because vera could’ve gained a lot from this win, whereas couture gains nothing. it was just a matter of preserving couture as a great hero, since this loss would’ve been his third in a row. in my mind could diminish that man’s legacy.
November 15th, 2009 at 12:40 am
**in my mind nothing could diminish that man’s legacy
November 15th, 2009 at 1:44 am
Why did Randy win?? Couse Vera didnt do nothing a young buck should do. He droped Couture but thats it. He should punish him with head kikcs, but he wasnt able to stay away from Randy. And thats it…
November 15th, 2009 at 6:55 am
It was close, technical and unfortunately… boring.
November 15th, 2009 at 7:35 am
Yes this fight was fixed all Randy had to do show up and not get knocked out and he would win. It’s all about the pay per view. Couture vs Machida will make more money than Machida vs Vera. Yes Vera was cheated anyone besides the 3 judges who watched it and disagrees is delusional. It’s sad how fans always love a winner even when he losses. I respect Randy but everyone in that arena should have been booing. Pressing Vera against the cage for 3 rounds proved he wanted a decision not a fight. His strategy was to tire Vera out so he couldn’t throw his hands in the later rounds. Randy achieved that But he wasn’t actually trying to win. Brandon Didn’t do a very good job of creating space and hitting him more but he did knock Randy down. The referee should have separated them more. Seriously could someone please tell me what Randy did to deserve this win. Name one thing besides one take-down in the first round which scored no damage. The winner is Dana White and his next pay per view. Notice how the UFC only allows promos for upcoming pay per view fights on youtube. They want you to buy their dvd’s and Pay per views. They don’t care about the fans except the ones with money in their pockets. It’s all about the cash. TRUTH

that how they have money to have these fights how else would they do it
November 15th, 2009 at 10:13 am
Vera should have won…
November 15th, 2009 at 12:59 pm
it was a boring fight overall, not to be the main event, randy needs to step up his striking game so he can match himself with fighters like Vera and be more convincing on his win and not have to depend so much on hugs lol
November 15th, 2009 at 2:03 pm
Look kids, the truth hurts, and the reality is, he lost, naturally.
November 15th, 2009 at 2:26 pm
No doubt it was a boring fight but Randy controlled all 3 rounds (Maybe not the 2nd)Yeah even tho he just held Brandon on the cage and threw a few hits he still controlled the fight.
November 15th, 2009 at 2:26 pm
i don’t even know which fighter you are referring to, but I’m certain that you consider yourself clever:P
November 15th, 2009 at 2:27 pm
Theo: Yes, sadly he won, but do you not think its a pathetic gameplan. he won, but made both of them look like garbage.
November 15th, 2009 at 2:32 pm
Cant agree with you more peter it wasn’t a good fight at all even tho Randy is one of my favorite fighters he needs to step up if hes going to be fighting at his age and in the toughest weight class.
November 15th, 2009 at 2:34 pm
Cant agree with you more peter it wasn’t a great fight. But if Randy wants to fight at his age in the toughest weight class he is going to have to step up his fighting skill (Stand up mainly is what im talking about) Soon he wont be able to just clinch up and expect a win by doing something so simple.
November 15th, 2009 at 2:35 pm
My bad for 2 of the same comments my computer messed up and didn’t post it till 5 min later
November 15th, 2009 at 2:43 pm
for randy a good (i.e. legitimate) victory would’ve included at least a good take down and some ground and pound. something slightly more than leaning on the guy so he can’t use his superior striking skills. sure, he stuck to his game plan, but his game plan was purely defensive and it wasn’t grounds for a victory, especially since he got knocked down, taken down, and mounted throughout the fight. even though vera’s performance wasn’t outstanding (he definitely needed to use the space of the octagon better by circling and moving in and out) his striking was excellent and he was able to hurt randy with the few opportunities he did have. the problem is that vera is not an explosive striker with knockout power; he’s a measured and skilled striker who needs room to work, and it was his task to create that room. the fact that he left the octagon and didn’t shake randy’s hand was poor sportsmanship. he needs to be respectful in victory and defeat, and even in the face of bs decisions.
November 15th, 2009 at 2:43 pm
Theo, I agree with you. I want Randy to be able to fight and contend into his 50s. That may sound ridiculous, but he is already 46 and still in amazing shape and still a contender… I would love to see him tighten up his stand up..
November 15th, 2009 at 3:09 pm
BULLSHIT
That is all.
November 15th, 2009 at 4:32 pm
randys the man but vera deserved this one
November 15th, 2009 at 4:37 pm
Wow, you guys who think this is fixed are retarded. Yes I believe that Vera did the most damage in the fight but unfortunately for Brandon and many others they also score on octagon control. For the most part Randy controlled the crap out of Brandon up against the cage and threw the occasional punch and elbow (which was very boring to watch). Brandon’s shining moments were only moments at that. He dropped Randy and should have finished him right then and I honestly thought he would but just couldn’t. And when he mounted him in the third, Randy quickly got up. He just wasn’t consistent enough to win the decision. It sucks that bouts have to end up like this but they do.
November 15th, 2009 at 5:51 pm
Its called octagon control and Randy kept control of it almost the entire fight. Randy won even tho it was boring to watch.
November 15th, 2009 at 9:16 pm
makes me hate the ufc…
especially after the machida-shogun decision.
November 16th, 2009 at 12:31 am
Had the judge not separated them so many times,
Couture could very probably got a submission or TKO win through ground and pound. It’s just that the UFC tries to cater to the general public, the majority of whom know not too much about submission fighting, that now more fights are won by strikers. You can tell that the UK spectators are not very sophisticated by the boos they cried out once the fighters clinched for more than 10 seconds. They thought “nothing is happening”!
November 16th, 2009 at 1:20 am
ufc is not a sports.
ufc is politics and sircus.
judges? no no no!
judges, what a hell their brains happening? money talks?
ufc sucks!
discusting!
November 16th, 2009 at 3:45 am
Shit fight
bad decision
even if he fights machida he’s not going to win
but for a 46 year old, FUCK ME DEAD he’s doing
well
November 16th, 2009 at 5:38 am
brandon should have won this fight…
the judges sucks..bad decision…
ufc is politics…not a sport.
November 16th, 2009 at 6:38 am
Trash, Couture destrois the show, is time do stop, Old Mtr Fckr!
November 16th, 2009 at 12:32 pm
octagon control, doing what? He was not in control of VERA at any moment, VERA defended it, so where’s the control?
I’m a big fan of couture, but this fight hurt him more as a legend.
November 16th, 2009 at 5:27 pm
Vera won. Octagon control should score tiny on the judges scorecard, and the amount of damage inflicted should be taken into consideration by the judges and should be the deciding factor in a fight like this. Couture has had his time, the dude is fucking 46. I don’t get all the hype about him, his record is 16-10 (16-11), he is extremely overrated imo, ppl who say he is the best should go look up the definition of the word “best” in the dictionary.
November 17th, 2009 at 9:04 am
Did anyone else notice that the eye poke was not seen by the ref but yet Randy just had to look at the judge to get him to take a time out???? I have never seen a fighter do that, if the ref doesn’t see it then he can’t stop the fight. The ref never broke up the embracing against the cage either. The ref allowed Randy to not fight and still win. The UFC is starting to look like WWE crap.
November 18th, 2009 at 1:11 am
randy won rounds 1 and 3 through his octagon control. Vera only did good in the second round… quit blaming the judges. learn mma!
November 18th, 2009 at 9:28 pm
I was rooting for Randy until after the first round. Who ever thinks Randy actually won a single round in that fight is just a fanboy. TRYING to take someone down for 3 rounds and FAILING does NOT constitute “controlling” a fight. Especially when you end up getting knocked down and taken down in the process. Vera whooped on Coutor.
November 20th, 2009 at 11:27 am
vera got robbed! this is BULLSH*T! vera won! couture’s just a favorite that’s why he won.
November 21st, 2009 at 6:48 am
WTF is hapenning with UFC…
this cards just suck…
boring fights…
dana wite is a moron..
November 21st, 2009 at 6:53 am
Randy Couture is a really nice fighter, but way far from “best fighter”..
there is a huge list of beTter fighters… starting with fedor
November 27th, 2009 at 10:37 pm
Watched it with my boyfriend again and I know that Couture won. Theo and me love himxxxxxxxxhahaha
November 29th, 2009 at 12:09 am
Gangrena: We’ll never know if Fedor is “better” because his moronic management won’t allow him to fight anyone of note. Until he beats Couture in the cage, he cannot be proclaimed to be “better”.
Most valid comment in this list is JMK’s. There is definitely an issue going on with MMA judging, but it has nothing to do with fixing fights. Lumping the UFC organization in with that problem is tossing the baby out with the bathwater.
BTW…these vids are no longer working.
