Quinton “Rampage” Jackson, after quarreling with UFC President Dana White over his new movie career, has retired from fighting. On his website, he says:

I’m done fighting..

The UFC has done a lot for me but I think I have done more for them. The UFC bought WFA to get my contract & they saved my life, so I felt loyal to them. They pushed me into a fight with Chuck Liddel even when I clearly stated I wasn’t ready to fight for the belt because the American fans didn’t know me but I took the fight and didn’t complain & after I won the American fans booed me for the first time which changed the way I saw them & it hurt me deeply.

Then before I can even get out of the cage they announced that I was fighting Dan Henderson without even asking me. After I beat Dan Henderson, I made history in becoming the first undisputed champion in MMA but was never even given the pride belt in the cage & I was never promoted as the undisputed champ. Later Anderson Silva was.

Then they had me coach TUF season 7 and fight Forrest and the fight was very controversial & normally when a fight is that close & controversial there is normally an instant replay. I can name a couple of instances. Instead they offered me the Vanderlei Silva fight which I gladly accepted even though I know it was a very risky fight for me to take because of all the drama that was happening to me at the time. I fought that fight with a jaw injury and then a couple weeks later Dana called me and asked me to fight Rashad. For the first time I said no, I didn’t want to fight because it was such short notice & I wouldn’t have had a long break between camp. Dana talked me into fighting Rashad anyway but Rashad refused the fight and so I had to fight Jardine as a favor to the UFC instead of getting my belt back (which wasn’t even worth it to me financially).

Then I reinjured my jaw in the fight with Vanderlei & Jardine. Frank Mir gets hurt so they wanted to switch my fight from UFC 100 to the fight Frank couldn’t make it to but I couldn’t fight cause I needed jaw surgury. So they give Machida the fight against Rashad & they told me they want me to coach TUF season 10 against Rashad. That’s why I wanted Rashad to win so bad but when Rashad got knocked out I told them I wanted to fight Machida for the belt but Dana told me if I coach TUF against Rashad that I could fight Machida afterwards cause this was a different type of ultimate fighter show they were doing. After I signed the contract Dana then changes his mind & says I have to fight Rashad & even told me what to say in the press & so my fans think I was scared to fight Machida. After all that I still never complained & I did it all.

Then this movie role came about that I have been trying to get for over a year & as soon as I found out I was close to getting it, I called Dana right away & asked to push the Memphis fight back just a month or so. I told him what this movie role meant to me. I told him that I used to bond with my father watching the tv show as a kid when my parents where still married & it represents the memories I had with my father when we lived together. My dad became an alcohalic & addicted to drugs & we grew apart. But after my dad got his life back together, I was so proud of my dad & I told him I would always take care of him in the future & make him proud of me. My dad & I are still very big fans of the show & I am basically doing this for the childhood memories I had spending time in front of the tv with my dad. Dana went on the internet & mocked me because of that & I still did nothing. Dana & I finally talked & we made up & then after that he went back on the internet & said some bullshit & he was talking bad about the movie when information is not even supposed to be released & talking about payments which is not even true could really hurt my future acting career, which could very well last longer than my fighting career. I’m not like Randy Couture. My body has been getting so many different injuries that I wont be able to fight until my forties & neither do I want to fight that long. So I feel like my second career could be in jeopardy.. so I’m done fighting. I’ve been getting negative reviews from the dumb ass fans that don’t pay my bills or put my kids though college. So I’m hanging it up. I’m gonna miss all my loyal fans but hopefully they’ll follow me to my new career & I will gain more loyal fans along the way. & all you hater fans out there can kiss my big black hairy ass! & anybody that don’t like what I just said can come try to kick my ass!

I still feel the UFC is a great organization and I felt like I was very loyal to them but they didn’t respect my loyalty but I wish the UFC the best. I did a lot of things for them. I wish no bad blood between us but I have kids & a family back in Memphis to provide for & thats all that matters to me!

i sure wont miss him

Wow that was a surprise. I don’t think it’s time for Rampage to hang it up yet… I have a feeling he’ll be back. I’m surprised he chose this movie over the fight with Rashad in the first place, and it’s too bad the movie producers couldn’t work around the fight. Hopefully we’ll see him back in the UFC. Rampage vs. Rashad would be a great fight.

3

Assuming all of that is true, it’s pretty good grounds to want to leave.

4

I feel bad for Rampage. “yummy” if u dont like Rampage then thats ur business but sayin something like that just make you seem like a fag. Hate him or love him he’s still a fighter who has done alot for this sport that we all love. You can sit behind your computer all day saying ignorant things but intell you do what he has done for so many years then you need to get off a website like this an go back to jerking off to high school musical. Before you say something stupid like im a rampage dick sucker, I’m actually not a fan of him but have huge respect for him.

5

Dammit. This is gonna suck. He’s such an upbeat dude, I’m gonna miss seein his fights too. I also think he’ll be back and as much of a business savvy dude that Dana is, I think he really needs to step around it as well. I’m not sure how much Rampage makes from his fights, but I’m willing to bet he’ll get a huge chunk of change as well from the movie without killing himself.

As much as I’d FAR rather see him fighting and bringing that ‘personality’ and drawing fans to the sport to either hate him or like him, I respect his decision to provide for his family.

His black ass better be back in the octagon soon though. Man, he makes for good fights and is a decent dude who tells shit like how it is.

6

Thats to bad for the industry, he’s a great fighter. It seems like Dana can do what he wants to the fighters, that sure sucks. Rampage is not the only fighter that had problems with Dana, Randy also had it with him. Well, wish all the luck for Rampage in his acting career!!!!

7

oooooooohhhh man, thats sucks! i think rampage is one of the best fighters of UFC, for dana and the business too, that wasn’t the best “move” to do. yeah rampage is not the only fighter that had problems with dana, and that make me think about that business like a “dana’s pride” : if you wanna stay on the top you have to do, or “acting” like dana says. if rampage say the truth about that, well done man!

8

God, that was so emotional i can´t stop crying.
No seriously, that guy is such a joke. Talkin like “no, i didn´t want this, and i didn´t what to fight that guy, and i was injured”.

Coming from someone who talks smack all the time, i don´t believe a word he´s saying. Yeah, like anybody could talk Rampage into something he don´t want.

I think the chain he´s wearing, is cutting-off his blood supply to the brain if he really things he´s gonna become a well known actor.

Even “The Rock”, who´s acting skills are way superior than Rampage´s quit wrestling “after” he established himself in the business.

He now was one win away from a title-shot. But when he´s forced to come back, and i´m pretty sure he will, he have to start all over again.

So in my opinion, Dana was right when he said it´s a huge mistake he´s doing.

that fag will fail at acting

Rampage only talks smack as a joke you dumb fuck…No1 wants to see two fighters fight when they’re talking nice to each other its common sense moron. Dana White is a man with way to much power and Im glad Rampage spoke up. Rampage might not become a big name actor but his fan base will follow him into his acting career no matter what, and who cares if hes not a good actor. It takes work to get better and anyone talking down to Rampage about how hes gonna have a terrible acting career is just some idiot saying that about someone because they could never follow through with what they wanted to do with there life instead they talk down about people. Rampage WILL be missed.

12

Dana White is envious

13

As a business man, I appreciate what Dana has, and is trying to achieve. He’s not a fighter though, and needs to learn some respect. He’d get more back.

It’s completely possible Rampage could have filmed and still got his fight, healthy and hungry. A win – win. Plus added promo for the UFC, with a possible champion in a major movie?

. .Think his ‘pantomime villain’ promotion style is swelling his ego a bit too much. He’s becoming short-sighted and making bad decisions. Maybe he should calm down before he becomes a crazy fool ( did you see what I did there? ) hah

Much respect for Rampage. The fighter and the man. All the blessed.

14

Wow, I remember him saying that when he came into the ufc, that he needed a few more fights in the cage. And then suddenly the next fight, he’s fighting chuck. Why am I certain all of those rampage haters posting above me are white? Hmmmm.
Dana White is a dick and a bully, and I guess Rampage is a sensitive guy.

15

Looks like Rampage is the New Millennium Jim Brown. Pretty cool.

16

Thats fucked up. There really is no way to tell what the truth is, but Dana is like the Vince Mcmahon of the UFC; “what’s good for the business is not always good for the fighters”.

17

Good for you Rampage !!! You don’t get paid shit anyway from Dana so I don’t blame you at all !! At least you have the brains to retire while your still good rather than wait like these “OLD FARTS” like Randy are doing. I respect your decision Rampage to get into acting. You should do a comedy. You are really funny !!!!! Good luck to you in the future.

18

Damn Rampage…You were my favorite fighter in UFC if not the entire MMA world.Best of luck in your acting career. You will be missed.Hope one day soon you will get what you deserve outta the fight game…

19

Dana White is a bitch and its so typicall for guys like him. look how is he acting when somebody attacks him…he makes a sillly fu#$ing blog in web and talks shit. Dana you are a bitch…f#$k you and all your family…

20

Damn…we just lost a great fighter in MMA…but i say dont be suprised if he pops up in another MMA circuit…like EliteXC…Sengoku. i think Dana is an ass really. The way he handles business is exactly like Vince. Remember if you aren’t Anderson Silva or Brock lesnar your getting shitted on, well maybe i dunno they maybe getting the shitty end of the stick as well (unlikely)…..look how he treats the greatest fighter….BJ Penn..even though we allll fucking saw the vaseline drop…he still back Pierre and boosting his ego.

LOL now we know why Fedor wont fight for Dana white

21

Some of you guys are really dumb and feminine acting. Rampage is a good fighter and one of the best in his division. This will hurt the UFC because he was one of its biggest personalities. Shit talk is what makes a fight worth watching it adds something extra. This is no friendly sport you want friendly watch Disney.. idiots
Rampage will be back later I feel though

22

I understand his point. but he will def come back..no one as good as him will stay away forever..just like mayweather and Randy coutoure they always come back….always.

23

‘fag’ this and ‘fag’ that, you guys sound like a bunch of creationist rednecks…

24

Well, I sure do not blame Rampage at all. He needs to take care of his family and himself. He did a lot for the UFC, and he did not want to fight Chuck so early. He even stated that before the fight. I remember that.

We all know Dana White likes to talk trash. He speaks what is on his mind. That being said, nobody should ever take offense to what Dana White has to say. That’s Dana. I like that part of his personality. He is upfront and will not lie to you. He may change his mind, but flat out lie? Not in a million years.

He should work this out with Rampage, because I really want to see Rampage beat the heck out of Rashad. I do not like Mr. Evans, because of his style of fightig. I hate people who prance around a cage mocking the opponent. Rashad does it. Anderson Silva does it. Rashad is much worse, though. He flat out thinks he’s pretty when he does it. Anderson does it, because he is fighting his opponent and shows his opponent there is nothing they can do to stop him. Rashad is going to do that one day and get cracked. He already got KO’d once. He learned a huge lesson, but he is not going to change over night. Once he matures, then perhaps we can begin to enjoy his fights more. For now, as long as he continues to showboat, I will continue to hate his acting up. There is no place in a fight for prancing around like a fool.

25

“‘fag’ this and ‘fag’ that, you guys sound like a bunch of creationist rednecks…”

Thanks Thomas, I was gonna say the same thing.

26

what a pussy…. hes too retarded to act anyways… i bet hes scurred of rashad… and he doesnt want the belt cuz lyoto would own his dumb caveman ass

27

I wish him very well ,great fighter !!!

28

All you suckers nobody would have guts to step in cage and you should
respect all those great fighters !!!

29

War Rampage..
Dana is a dick.. simple as that… he should be locked up in a cage with Vince Mamahon and Don King and be fucked by a gay horse…

30

Man….maybe he just need sometime to think alil vacantion wouldnt hurt i hope he change his mind.

31

Some of you guys are heartless. He is doing the right thing. Putting his family before his career. If only everyone could have a father like this.

32

Too Bad!! I think his best move would to go out with a bang!! Keep his last fight with Rashaad Evans, beat the heck out of him and leave a winner!!! On his own terms… Later he will negotiate with Dana and come back for more money…

33

It seems like “fags” are on some posters minds a whole lot. I wonder why that is! What is the attraction?

Is there something you need to tell us? Please feel free to be yourselves, and blossom, with no shame.

We are all one.

Would you be interested in going to that meeting, whenever it happens? ,
