Im So happy for Pat Barry Because (if some of you didnt know) He actually NEEDED this fight, In Later Interviews he said “I only had Rice and Ketchup to eat” he was down on his luck and in a week was going to be evicted from his apartment, leaving him on the streets. Thane – MMA fighters with brain damage???? any examples of this?? MMA is 3-5 minute rounds with other techniques and other attacks. Plus the point of the gloves is to ensure there is no constant beating over 12 rounds (boxing) ……no standing 8 count, hard punches usually end with a knockout, there most likely wont be cases of brain damage in MMA fighters because they dont sustain the constant beating over a long career that boxers do….
Once again, if you have an example I would love to hear it. Im not saying MMA fighters arent a little loofy, but I doubt they need YOUR “luck” (which most MMA fighters dont even accept as a real thing in this sport(luck)….
Always nice to get sources and background supporting information before making claims like that – these are not boxers, theyre mixed martial artists…

It seems to me that as Hardonk went down he put his hand up to signal that he was done. But remember that’s just what it seems like to me.

I think Barry would have won either way the way he was throwing those punches.

However, the more I watch the video the more convinced I am that Hardonk was trying to give up. So IF that’s the case then it WAS a cheapshot. But hey i’m not official and it is what it is. Barry needed the money he got out of it though. Poor guy was in a rut.

O well. Hope he finds a better job someday. The brain injuries these fighters will sustain over the years will cost them more money than they’re earning. Good luck to them all though.

Pat Barry used to train with this man, they’re old sparring partners. I can assure you that Hardonk did not give up, he got knocked down hard twice, and then knocked out cold. Pat dismantled him at will. And after an attempt at an eye gouge, no less. Cheap tricks…such sad sportsmanship.

Barry was beating the shit out of him, he didn’t give up, he got beat.
