Pat “Get Hype” Barry faces Gary Goodridge @ K-1 World GP 2007 in Honolulu, HI. Also included is a highlight video of Barry which shows his original upbringing in Sanshou. It’s nice to see other forms of striking besides Muay Thai in the UFC. Just like how Lyoto Machida has shown that Karate is a formidable martial art again, Barry has the chance to prove that Kung Fu/Sanshou is as well. Pat Barry will be facing Tim Hague @ UFC 98 on May 23rd.

When it comes to Sanshou practitioners in MMA, one should probably think of Cung Le (despite his recent inaction) before thinking of Pat Berry.
That said, when it comes to people with awesome Techno Viking impersonations, one should definitely think of Pat Berry before thinking of Keith Jardine or even Hong Man Choi…

his kicks look awesome…not surprising though as he has legs like cro cops. I doubt he has a ground game though…so I seem him getting tooled by many of the wrestlers and BJJ people in the division.
