Nice soccer kick to end it. You won’t see that any more.

you’re right, seeing two of Pride’s greatest fighters compete against each other is a horrible waste of time…

It’s a FIGHT, fellaz. Brutality and ruthlessness is the name of the game. CroCop was on an antiterrorist squad in Croatia, and he’s got the right attitude.

heh, when I wrote that comment I was actually thinking: “I bet that guy Diesel is going to come on here and be all like: ‘Its a fight!!!!’” So why not allow eye pokes, kicks to the balls, and fish hooks you neanderthal?

As originally conceived (ca. 1993) everything was allowed except biting and eye gouging, because they can permanently disfigure. Kicks to the balls were okay, and should be. The balls are the weakest part of a man’s body, and the first thing the bad guys go for when it’s for keeps, so you better protect them (fighters are wearing cups, right)?
And I take “neanderthal” as a compliment. The real Neanderthals were stalwart men, tough and strong, who made a go of it in conditions that would have killed most of us.

Kicks to the balls shouldn’t be ok. One kick can cause permanent damage. Besides, if they were allowed, some piss poor fighter could come along and win with a simple ball shot. Where’s the skill in that? I wouldn’t want decent fights being decided by cheap shots. Although a cup does offer protection, it still hurts a great deal. It cushions the blow, but not completely. A kick to the groin, whilst wearing a cup, will still bring someone down, and still be down for a while.

How often has anybody been permanently damaged by a ball shot? And if you win with a “simple ball shot,” you’re not so piss poor. You targeted a natural weak spot and got it. The opponent should have defended better, as he would have to when it’s for real.

Actually, soccer kicks to the head are far less brutal than high kick to the head, which on average has about two times the power of a soccer kick. Not to even mention low kicks and middle kicks, which can result in broken knee caps, broken ribs, broken arms if blocked….but the most brutal kick or punch in MMA is the liver shot. Anyone who ever trained any martial art knows that a liver kick hurts so bad your toes and fingers become paralyzed, basically the worst pain you can experiance in a fight, maybe hurts even more than a kick to the balls.
Head kicks and punches actually arent brutal at all, because believe it or not, they dont hurt. The harder you get hit, the less it will hurt, because you will be shaken up and wont feel anything for few seconds, or you will be totally knocked out and will wake up 5 minutes later not knowing what happened. Take you fist, and hit yourself in the head as hard as you can. You see, it doesnt hurt to bad, and thats the most fainfull thing that will happen when punched to the head. Of course, when i say head, i dont mean face (jaw, eyes, nose), just the skill, where highkicks and soccer kicks are delivered.

I meant to say skull, not skill.
