GSP Greased Back Video

Between rounds of GSP vs. Penn 2 (VIDEO HERE), Phil Nurse, a cornerman and supposed witch doctor, applies vaseline to GSP’s face, then shoulders, and then to his back while performing some type of ritual that gives GSP strength. NSAC officiants were notified of the vaseline and promptly wiped it off his back the following round (second video). Do you think this altered the fight?

GSP could have taken a bath in Vaseline, and BJ still would have had zero answers. Penn was breathing so hard, he looked like he needed CPR after the 2nd round.

Given the tiny amount of Vaseline that may have been applied to GSP’s back, I highly doubt that it would have made a difference. As a former University Wrestler, I can attest that in sports like this, you’re going to get greasy regardless of how much you towel off. People claim that there’s evidence that GSP was totally greased because of BJ’s inability to gain a successful leglock on the body. Sweat and GSP’s total domination contributed more to that than anything else.

Good work GSP! I’m glad you destroyed him!

vaseline is hard to get off your skin and bj was trying to work high guard and rubber guard his legs kept slippin watch the damn fight… i am fans off both of these guys, but thats messed up

GSP, gave the ultimate lesson to BJ in humility.
I am a huge BJ fan and when I seen him calling St pierre a bitch, quitter, and compared himself to GOD, it bother me and I think Many. Now that he fell off the cloud he is inbetween. I was hoping he did not file a complaint. The commision will pursue action towards the person who applied vaseline. BJ should no, He lost and should not tarnish this win for ST pierre. Looking at the 1st fight The only damage he did was in the 1st round the rest of the fight looked like their 2nd fight. BJ and Team save face dont file a complaint BJ will look like a bitch. The greatest fighters of MMA of humble hearts and show respect to all challengers.(Couture, Fedor, St. Pierre) When some of them lose even in defeat are shown love, appreciation, and admiration from the public. BJ I hope you dont quit, you dont measure greatness by the wins, but by what the accomplish after defeat. Take some time and lace up your boots I look foward to seeing you fight again.

I don’t understand why that asshole had to use the Vaseline anyway!He tainted GSP’s finest hour as a fighter.That cornerman should be suspended for at least a year if not longer.I don’t even think GSP knew WTF was going on. What the hell give BJ Penn a rematch if that’s what he really wants,which I seriously doubt!!!!!!

He didnt even add more vasaline before rubbing GSP’s back. if he were cheating he would clearly more than what was already on the gloves. it seems pretty obvious the trainer was just trying to keep GSP relaxed. but hey, everyone needs an excuse when they get their ass handed to them right?

TerribleT frankly you do not know what you are talking about. Suspend the corner man? Your ignorance is apparent. GSP’s corner man had hardly any vasoline on his hand to start with. And it is his job to look after his fighter. The man in the maroon suit working for the commission has a job to oversee what the corner is doing and he did just that. After one round he wiped GSP’s back. I wouldn’t be surprised if it was just excess sweat being wiped off. The guy did his job and then GSP went out back out and did his, kicked BJ Penns ass.

The small amount of vaseline applied the first time probably made no difference.. and if you notice the second time.. the guy with the red coat rubs GSP’s back with a towel..
