It turned out exactly like I thought it would. Anytime that GSP fights someone for the second time he always dominates.
I think BJ knew he was going to be beat. However, I don’t think he thought he would be beat like a rag doll. After talking all his smack I would imagine that the plane ride back to HI is going to be a long one. The good news is that he should be on some new beatdown highlight reels, but probably not what he intended.
GSP owns BJ Penn. GSP is undoubtedly the best fighter in the world bar none. BJ, well he can always carry rocks from one place to another at the bottom of the sea and talk smack where no one can hear him. He’s toast. His mystique is gone. He will probably do a “Rampage” and end up in some deep poop somewhere.

The Spider walks around at almost 220lbs, GSP 186 or 187, hardly fair. As impressive as these two fighters are, the best pound for pound fighter on the planet is easily Fedor. He is a small heavyweight and has beat guys well over 100lbs bigger than him. His wins come over the Who’s Who of the best heavyweights the past ten years. Penn does not have the drive, the heart, the head the dude stopped training for 5 days to chill out with his gf. Lame. GSP’s skills are unreal.

Firstly, Nick, that’s quite the run on sentence. Hooked on Phonics really worked for you…
Secondly if there was vaseline on GSP’s back, it was caught and he was toweled off prior to every round. Watch the fight.
Thirdly, GSP levelled BJ with punches while standing before BJ was even taken down. BJ had no response for that.
Fourth, when BJ was taken down he had virtually no cardio left or apparent heart to fight. He just took it like a sparring partner.
Cheater? I don’t think so. That was pure skill.

GSP vs A. Silva would probably end up similar to the GSP vs. Penn fight. The bigger good man will normally beat the smaller good man all things being considered. I don’t think we will ever see these two fight.
I don’t think that A. Silva would be able to beat GSP as easily as GSP beat Penn regardless. GSP’s skills and talent are on another level from his peers.
It would not be a fair matchup for GSP. He appears to be a natural welterweight and Silva a natural middleweight. If I were GSP I wouldn’t do it. But I’m not him and he might welcome and accept the challenge.
As far as the vaseline thing, it’s absurd to even bring it up much less make an issue of it. BJ probably wished that they would have put some vaseline on GSP’s gloves.
This may sound a bit far fetched for some, but I don’t think that BJ will ever be the same fighter he was before this fight. I may be wrong, but I don’t think so. Time will tell.

Nick, the sender from two messages ago, the way you type gives you no credibility. That might have been the longest sentence I have ever seen. Plus none of it makes sense. You do not seem to know the sport and to say the GSP has no respect for the sport only further shows your ignorance. GSP trains as hard if not harder than anybody. BJ Penn stopped his training early for this fight. He has shown a lack of respect for not only the sport, but himself.

They are both champions in their own right. BJ lost to Matt hughs and came back in fight 2 but in GSP case too much strength and too much athlethism. All the disresprect towards BJ is uncalled for. For god sakes the man holds the world record for earning the black belt in jujitsu and is still a champion. He’s shown from his losses in the past he come back stronger. As far as Silva being the best pound for pound middle weight we’ll never know till he fights Cung Lee.

wow….all of you who said that this fight was fixed, or that GSP cheated are way off. GSP is, in my opinion, technically a way better fighter than BJ and for all of you who said that he cheated or BJ shoulda won, i can bet if they had a rematch it would be the same shit. GSP worked his ass off to win that fight. And i also didnt respect how BJ was saying how hes gonna kick GSP’s ass and telling GSP to go fuck himself that was uncalled for and it shows what great sportsmanship BJ has. GSP has brain and brawn, he figures out the opponents weakness and then usesd his amazing technical skills to exploit those weaknesses which is what makes him the best fighter in the world

Just saw the fight a few hours ago. GSP prepared well, had a game plan, stuck to it and took BJ out in style. BJ should seriously review where he went wrong and go from there. Well fought GSP.

Honestly, BJ talked so much shit and GSP won the fight. As everyone above me said, GSP trained long and hard and he has so much respect for the sport, he used strategy and completely dominated BJ Penn. In my point of view there should be no GSP vs. Penn 3 because thats just stupid, why would GSP’s fans want to see Penn getting beat 3 times straight? GSP is the welterweight champion of the world and he is inspiring to me because i am also Canadian, GSP FTW!!

You know it’s always funny to me when people say dumb things.. Such as “oh if you were a fighter” or “you people don’t know anything because you aren’t fighters” trash like that makes me glad I AM a fighter.
I know that opinions are what make fans good support systems no fellow fighter I know wants a bunch of yes men surrounding them.
I always have had trainers and sparring partners who critically and constructively tell me what I’m doing wrong in the ring.
GSP I love that guy he’s a great fighter has he had questionable in ring tactics? YES as a fan of his I know he has doesn’t mean I support him any less.
I know for a fact with or without that vaseline incident he was going to beat Penn, any real fight fan would of predicted this upon seeing the way BJ behaved in his training efforts, or lack thereof prior to the fight.
To be fair Penn doesn’t need the UFC he hasn’t for quite some time, he’s rich he’s legendary in the sport and it’s probably hard to find true motivation these days.
Just my honest opinion also GSP vs. Silva wouldn’t be a squash match GSP is too smart of a fighter to be absolutely dominated but I do think Silva being the bigger stronger fighter would naturally get the edge with his collective set of skills.

Bj penn will never be able to beat Gsp. Every day of training that Gsp goes through, he becomes a faster,stronger fighter. He has clearly advanced his technique and endurance faster than any other fighter I have ever seen. Gsp will only get stronger, faster and smarter…At this point I am not sure who can even be a worthy contender in his weight class.

he gsp bj 3 ya right gsp didnt win because there was some vasoline on his back… he won because he is bigger stronger more athletic and very well rounded and oh shit theres more much better training ethic and sparing partners and camps… if you know anything about the sport wich i do im a fighter bj was dominate 155 not 170 for a reason these guys will not fight again and im so shure florian is going to beat bj…

All of you who diss BJ Penn because he talked shit are idiots. It’s part of the sport. And when you say “GSP dominates BJ Penn” you’re still morons. BJ was trying to prove that he could take on anyone no matter what the weight class and he more than proved that on multiple occasions. Look at the fat on BJ, he was just trying to find a challenge. How many times did GSP pass BJ’s guard and still not finish the fight? If you compare BJ and GSP according to their real weight classes, BJ “dominates” the shit out of GSP and then some. Not only that, but BJ has gone out and won the welterweight championship when he got bored with knocking the shit out of lightweights.
