You talk about some BS. Is BJ REALLY that hard up?

Good video. Shows him winning every opening round and striking the crap out of finch. That guy doing the rubbing is called the “witch doctor”. these guys are into doing these energy(chi) rituals before fights (nipple twisting) and during (watch how he puts his hand on his chest and back simultaneously). but that’s beside the point. What is having vaseline rubbed on u any? Keeps someone from holding on for dear life! So stop bitching, it wasn’t even close and sweat does the same thing anyway.

I cant stand GSP but he would win anyway, BJ got well and easily beaten. He didnt get close enough for any Vaseline to cause problems.. Sweat does the same thing anyway as already been said..

These videos show little or nothing. Each time between rounds before he goes out again, GSP gets toweled off. Correction, These video do show how dominant GSP was in each of these fights.

This video doesn’t show anything. You can tell fights like Sanchez vs Diaz that they looked slippery when grappling, and yes like rick says the tubbing is a breathing/relaxing technique. The only problem is probably a SLIGHT amount og vaseline is left after he applies them on gsp’s face. And lets not forget it’s applied on a small circle on gsp’s back.

Why did this video get posted?? I stopped after the 1st 2 accusations of the video. They both claim he might be getting vaseline applied to his legs.
1st off, those accusation are completely false. The cornerman has no vaseline in his hands.
2nd, poster is an idiot. Putting vaseline on your legs would help your opponent. Having slippery legs has no advantage, but has many disadvantages. ie, the point of applying vaseline to gsp’s back was so that penn’s legs could not grip up there for rubber guard, triangle chokes, etc.

WOW what a hater the vaseline did nothing GSP completly dominated penn so stop bitchin…i wonder what penn will say after GSP beatshis ass for a third time in the summer

I don’t give a **** about some vaseline! Sweat does the same damn thing! You can tell george’s hits are straight & solid!! Has nothing to do with vaseline!!!!!
I LOVE YOU GEORGE ST. PIERRE YOU’RE MY FAVORITE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

To Jon:
I’m not gonna say you’re stupid or anything but how do u know for sure there’s no vaseline in his hands. I think it’s a little hard to see. I’m not saying there is either though.
And vaseline on a leg can help u get out of a leg lock. And for the people calling BJ a bitch how would u feel after getting your ass kicked like that? I would be pissed
For the record i like both fighters

GSP = Greasy Slippery Pomaded

You can tell a lot of you guys much not understand much about grappling. First off, sweat does not do the same thing as Vaseline. Big difference. If you have grappled before you would know that.
Second of all, to the guy who said putting it on your legs has no advantages. Slipping out of leg locks, harder to take down? Those sound like advantages to me.
Whether or not GSP had enough on him to be any factor during the fights, is not the point. The point is, it is giving a slight edge to one fighter. When you work your ass off training for 6months only to come in and have someone greasing, however little it may be, your not going to be happy.

spend a day in a mma gym and stop hating
you don’t know jack about fighting

The only clip that looked questionable was the Penn clip. They admitted it was a mistake, didn’t they? It did NOT change the outcome of that fight in anyway.
February 14th, 2009 at 6:32 pm
WOW. whoever made this, you honestly wasted 15 minutes of my life. you are a total douchebag. this proves NOTHING.
the penn2 fight is the only legitimate account of the vaseline incident. the leg massages in the other fights are nothing but that, massages. tell me the vaseline is the deciding factor in any of those fights. say it, i dare you to lie to yourself.
you honestly stole 15 minutes of my life. you are an idiot.
February 14th, 2009 at 9:53 pm
You guys miss the poing. Its not a decideing factor in any of the fights. The point is, it is an edge none the less. Its like steriods in baseball. Taking steriods doesnt make you hit more homeruns. It makes you hit the ball farther. You still have to know how to swing a bat. Same with this. GSP is an excellent fight. I look at all those fights and the vaseline has nothing to do with the outcome. He dominated everyone of them. But there is still the case of an unfair advantage which still should be took into account when dealing with him.

i respect gsp and bjpenn alot. i love mma and all of the fighting competitions i have witnessed.the corner was shady. but gsp did beat bj severely. there is no way that gsp would lose to penn i n the condition gsp was in ( mentally/physically ) but! if the corner ( gsp ) did do sometyhing shady, lots of respect lost. less contraversy more fights. thanx for the conversation but thanx even more for mmalinker letting us view these awesome fights. peace andyr

justin = dumb shit. stop talking about the difference between vaseline n sweat, grappling n the gym. how r u guys having a pissing contest over this? Bj talked shit n got his ass kicked so now he is fighting back by crying about vaseline, bitch style. thats it, it’s that simple, it’s not rocket science

that was pretty funny not gonna lie lol

People that are complaining about vaselin does not neccesary support BJ penn. Many have $$ bet during this fight and many were on BJ Peen side. Therefore they are only frustrated for the money the lost !!! lol !!
remember what BJ said ? “I going to the death!”..well BJ “went to the hospital instead” ! lol !!!
February 18th, 2009 at 6:45 pm
Fanboys can rant all they want. I think GSP would have won those fights anyways, but if he believed it, then he shouldn’t have cheated. You take the unfair advantage and get caught, sorry, you pay the price! He’s also displayed to the whole world that he’s not a champion or a sportsman, but a weasal. Sad.
February 23rd, 2009 at 7:45 pm
Nissen, justin was only describing grappling. yea Bj got his ass kicked, but obviously that’s not his point.
we all know there’s gonna be a Penn/Pierre 3. Hopefully that would end every trashtalking discussion like this.
And for the love of god if you’ve never grappled before, stop saying sweat and vaseline do the same thing. they really don’t. Maybe if you sweat ounces per round it would help but it’s not the same.

I dont think that BJ had a chance in hell against Georges St. Pierre. I ordered the fight on PPV and GSP completely dominated BJ, but as stated earlier GSP was getting toweled off so I think that vaseline had nothing to do with GSP winning, because GSP beat BJ by stand up and ground n pound. Plus what difference does it make if GSP had vaseline because BJ never attempted to take GSP down, Why? because he never could get close enough; however, I am glad BJ got his ass beat for trash talking and as for the vaseline complant, I think that BJ’s team are all bitches and sore lossers who are trying to cover up for BJ’s poor proformance and enability to match up to GSP’s tallent.
