just before this starts, may i say that bret rogers has absolutely nothing to lose in this fight and everything to gain. if he loses he’ll just be another nobody that Fedor has beaten. if he wins he’ll go down in history as the man to finally beat Fedor. he should have a very good mind set going in. lets hope its a good fight no matter what i don’t want to watch a lot of bull.

I believe it was a good fight, and to be honest, i thought before the fight started that Rogers might knock him out.. ok he MIGHT but to be honest.. after the first minute i really saw it as just another fight for fedor.. ok he was heavy and therefore hard to handle, and when brett was gnpounding him i thought it was a difficult moment for fedor ( specially coz of the cage since he couldnt move freely.. in a ring he would have gotten that armbar i am sure ) but if you look at it., you will see that actually fedor was rolling the punches with his head so there were not CLEAR shots, otherwise they woul dhave stopped teh fight

and if they stopped teh fight when it was the otehr way around it was coz the referee saw rogers stunned, and COME ON! everyone knows that you dont nee dto be stunned to get “killed” by fedor’s gnp.. so why to wait for it to happen if u see that the guy won’t recover properly from this one and you see some CLEAN shots already? i mean he was turtling.. fedor was going to punch him to the head then a couple times to the body then again to the face.. when he tried to do something else ( if possible ) he would just be clocking THAT moment to jump on him and rear choke him or do something else

cf it’s not about being knock out. it’s about intelligently defending yourself. when a fighter gets hit like that and his legs gives out and he doesn’t intelligently defend himself the ref has no choice to stop it. he’s there to protect the fighters. this was a good stoppage. rogers didn’t even turtle up. he got knock down and turned to his side and laid there with one arm over his head. that one arm won’t protect him. if he would’ve kept turn onto his stomach and cover up then the ref would have maybe let it gone on a little more to see what would have happen. also, when you get knock cold even for a few second you’re completely out tired and out of it. pretty sure that’s why rogers didn’t get up right away. he looked out of it to me.

also, rogers did a pretty good job better than i expected but he doesn’t deserve another shot anytime soon. he needs some more experience. he only had two good moments in that fight but otherwise didn’t really put any danger to fedor. overeem and fedor be an interesting fight.

This is one of the best fights ive seen and congratulations for both fighters for giving a very good performance…again, Fedor proves he’s the best and no doubt the greatest but watch out for Rogers,,,he’s the next thing…how I wish he and Brock would slug it out one day……

This was a decent fight. I dont think Rogers truely showed what he is capable of though, he didnt seem to let loose with his notorious striking abilities. I can understand him coming into the fight cautious, he was fighting the best mma fighter of all time but I think he should have used his powerful striking ability to more effect.
There’s no doubt Fedor is the best pound for pound fighter about and unquestionably is a living legend in the mma world. He’s proved his worth not only on the ground where he is dominant but he can equally go toe to toe with the biggest and best of strikers and can still take the massive hits. Before the fight I though the was a chance Fedor could get caught if Rogers landed him with one of his trademark punches however, experience and brains was the winner here, Fedor was clever and although taking a few big hits always looked in complete conrol. It was ironic that Rodgers (a big hitter) was defeated by a huge punch from Fedor.
The question is whether a rematch is even an option now? Roders should have been more gracious in defeat too I think.

well had fedor not been bloody it might have ended in the first round to submission. I gotta hand it to rogers he did very well and has my respect. When he had mount and was grounding and pounding fedor i was worried. But The way fedor takse the jab that cuts him and dosent even flinch should show everyone the chin of the man. One could win theroretically by decision if he let them, but as far as knocking out fedor or submitting him. hah. He didn’t find for a while and he never fought in octagon befor U can see how rogers was controling on the fence. I’ve seen the fight live and i have to say i’m impressed. BIG TIME. big difference in watching mma fights online or on tv. When you see Fedor full of blood chasing his pray in the ring damnnnn. Besides his skills and conditioning Fedor has something that a lot mma fighters will never have: focus and mental power….You will never see him scared. He knows that one day he will lose just like anybody else. If he takes a Vitali and Wladimir approach that maybe he won’t. Prefight he is soft spoken all humble and shit and after fight he acts like he was the champ and the neck/jaw/eardrum/soul/black breaking punch was Fedor’s loterry ticket. fedor did an excellent job but the level of competition at the UFC is entirely different from strikeforce. lesnar vs fedor would be a good fight; fedor has shown one-punch knockout power against many fighters and certainly has all the tool to beat lesnar, but lesnar is the type of fighter that is sort of impossible to prepare for and fedor would have to do more than just fight in his normal style to beat him. however, because he has this aura of a legend he might not be willing to make the adjustments until its too late. either way, no matter how great fedor is, him being named the best p4p in the world is premature until he faces the likes of mir, lesnar, couture, as well as the up and coming heavyweights in the UFC. rogers put up a good fight, but it’s sad that he’s the best challenge for fedor because he ultimately beat himself by gassing. fedor needs stiff competition to test him, which he can only find in the UFC. bureaucratic issues aside, if i was fedor i would be dying to face the best fighters in the world to cement my legacy.

Fedor was clearly the better fighter. Why was the announcer asking about a rematch? Brett is still new to the sport he is lucky to get the chance to fight Fedor once another fight would just be boring. Alistair Overeem would be a better fight and more of a challenge for Fedor imo.

and as for all you people sucking Brocks nuts… Brock is 32 (not getting any younger), he just started fighting, he only has 4 wins, he lost to Frank Mir, he just was to afraid to fight Shane Carwin (because he got sick), at best even if he wins EVERY fight for the next 6 years before he has to retire, he will finish the sport with a record of 16 wins 1 loss… He will never be as great as Fedor. Look up the long list of Fedor’s accomplishments and compare them to the 4 wins of Lesnar. ….. In their primes, both Nogueira AND Mirko Filipovic aka Crocop were arguably the best heavyweights in the world. Until Fedor came onto the scene, of course The only fedor fight i’ve ever seen where Fedor deserved a loss was against Ricardo Arona in a Rings competition… Arona dominated him with brute strength and wrestling HOWEVER, Brock Lesnar is NOWHERE near as good as Arona, and while i kinda respect him… He wouldn’t be a match for Fedor. I was very impressed by rogers i expected less from him. And fedor didnt dissipoint his fighting is explosive, it truely lives up and delivers on his reputation. kinda lame how rogers kept holding on the cage and even did a couple of low knees, fedor was unphased and just pushed him off, lol it was awesome. I think fedor woulda landed the armbar in round one had it not been for the blood lubricating the situation. The ppl that it was close just have a bias against fedor. A lot of us have only knownabout fedor for a year, we are pretty unbiased. I think Cain, Mir, Lesnar, Overeem, and even Hendo would be good fights for fedor. Cain has been popped on steriods though. also, if you’ve never watched Fedor, he has been hurt a few times in his fights but he has never been on the verge of taken out. he can get himself out of nasty situations by improvising and has great hips and practical knowledge of applying submissions at any point. For god’s sakes, Hong Man Choi is 7 feet tall and almost 400 pounds. Would Brock lesnar fight him? Hell no. He would be beaten, I have no doubt about it. Fedor will fight anyone.
