Tom Atencio, the head of the Affliction MMA promotion, confirmed to FanHouse on Wednesday morning that Josh Barnett has been pulled out of his scheduled August 1 heavyweight title fight with Fedor Emelianenko. But Atencio said he still expects the Affliction Trilogy card to take place as scheduled. Atencio said Barnett failed a drug test and therefore the California State Athletic Commission will not permit him to fight.
He tested positive for a banned substance, Atencio said of Barnett. The athletic commission will not reinstate his license.

Barnett said that he just took another test and hopefully if those results come up negative, he can still fight. we shall see

So now I hear that Vitor Belfort is the likely fill in to fight Fedor.What a joke! This event is finished as far as being appealing enough to bring in any profits.And to think that they were threatening to go head to head with UFC 100.They wouldn’t even come close to the UFC 100’s PPV numbers if they put this card on CBS for free

yeah, I’m no UFC nut hugger, but Fedor really has to sign to a good promotion if he is going to leave a lasting legacy… Don’t get me wrong, I think hes the man. I would just like to see him sign to the UFC and tear through the heavyweight division, just so nobody could EVER question his bad-ass-ness….

Tito would bring in some numbers as far as viewers (its in socal) but I dont think Tito could bring competition to the fight. Fedor would smash him. They’re saying monson/rogers/belfort. Would rather see the first two tho.
