Cain was going to continue beating on him either way. Cain is ready for a title shot. If not, minimum Nogueira.

against nogeira would be AWESOME, i mean probably the best wrestler ( technically wise ) in HW right now, agianst probably the best BJJ guy in UFC HW at the moment, one against the other and being both about the same size and weight… it would be a fight to go to the scores FOR SURE coz i dont see Cain TKOing the basically unTKOable Nog ( or at least not when he is at his 100% )

I agree, Velasquez against Nogueira would be an awesome fight. I thought Cain’s fight against Chieck was a joke, and a pathetic on both fighters’ accounts. But he really impressed me with that match against Rothwell. Pretty sure Lesnar would beat him though. Cain’s biggest weapon is take downs, and I just don’t see him out-muscling Lesnar.

@Frank
I dont think its all about outmuscling, I mean, do you seriously think that Coutour Outmuscled Lesnar? yet he could keep lesnar pin most of the fight against the fence, with simple TECHNIQUE, so i see it the same way, i honestly think that in the wrestling department would be pretty even, I mean if you think about it seriously… Cain is a new coutour., younger bigger and stronger, just as good as coutour, ( PROBABLY just a bit not as good.. but thats topic for discussion ) but what he could lack of technique he makes up with size and strenght, and with his youth he has many years to become a better version of coutour. he also has pretty good boxing ( compared to average MMArtist ) so just another coutour., with this said.. i think he has the same chances of beating lesnar that coutour had, much cardio, alot of pinning and dirty boxing..
if i had to say, RIGHT now i would say it would be more likely for lesnar to win with a punch like the one he landed on coutoure, but it doesnt mean doesnt have a good chance of winning anyway! i see it as a 70% chance for ending in teh first round in favour to lesnar, 65 in second 50 in third, and then i see Velasquez winning the next rounds. but because of teh first ones being good for lesnar thts why i believe he COULD win a Decission or something like that

He really beat him like Ben was a little boy. Nothing the little boy could do against Cain. If it were in the real world Cain would have killed Ben and sent him to the cementery.Lucky for him it was in the octagon.

I have to say Rothwell looked far more skilled than he ever did in the IFL, at least initially. The work he’s doing on his technique is showing.
That said, Cain is just a baaaad dude.
I 2nd you, Martin…I’ve been calling Cain “Couture Jr.” for awhile now, and would love to see how he would fare against Lesnar. Unlike Randy, I don’t think he would be so easily overwhelmed by Lesnar’s 2-inch ham(mer)fists, and his strength/endurance could wear Lesnar down if Cain could manage to keep Billy Bada$$ at bay for a couple of rounds. Chunk Beefbroth…I mean Lesnar…has never been taken into deep water (but was headed there vs. Couture) and I think Cain is just the guy who could take him there.
I think he’s ready too, but a fight with Nog would be a doozy. Should he win, it would be test+validation.
Can’t wait to see either fight.
