I’m not sure what injury Frank sustained to prevent him from answering the fourth round, but without a doubt, he is still bad ass and one of my all time favorite fighters. Congratulations Cung Le; you’ve earned it man!

it was the last kick from lee who nailed shamrock. He had to keep his guard always.

He sustained a broken arm, this fight was AWESOME! These guys will have to do it again, that was too good to see just one time! If Shamrock would have not broken his arm, Le would have probably stopped him anyways, Le hurt him with that kick to the head in the final seconds of round three. It was good to see Le take some solid right hands, alot of fighters would have been KO’d by those rights Shamrock hit him with!

It was a good fight. Im happy to see Shamrock is starting to have a bit of respect for others in the ring. I have never seen him that respectful to anyone. Cung proved himself well. I still wonder why Frank didnt try harder to take him down. I believe he had a stiking issue to prove & didnt play that one smart. A rematch will definitely be in order. I dont think Cung has ever been tested that hard before either. I think Cung will find his biggest tests in the UFC. Anderson Silva comes to mind. I dont think Cung will be able to handle Anderson for long, a stiker equally as good with more reach & a better ground game. I dont know if we will ever see that(weight class matchup). Frank isnt the top guy in his class as I see it. Hats off to both fighters though, they made the rest of the fight card look asleep. Honestly the other matchups were horrible & they need better announcers definitley.

those guys are fags. My anus has greatfully taken harder shots than either of those pussies took. P.S. All of you other people who have an opinion can frog my anus
April 1st, 2008 at 5:06 pm
What was Shamrock thinking? After the first round you would think a strategy change would be in order. I guess he enjoyed taking multiple kicks to the arm until it broke. Great game plan Frank. Maybe retirement is in order. Kidrockya is right Li’s biggest competition is in the UFC and he wouldn’t last 1 round with Silva. Or Franklin for that matter. “Frog my anus”? wrong website Mack.

Im sure Mack has taken harder anus shots LMAO
Nightly. You said it bro not us! Still LMAO & cant stop bwahahahaha

Great fight! I agree, Shamrock should have attempted more take downs. Shamrocks downfall was his arrogance and ignorance in regards to fighting Cung in a stand up fight. I also would like to disagree with the assumption that Anderson Silva would destroy Cung. Silva is great fighter, versatile, quick, good hands, good feet, knees, and BJJ at an expert level. I think this is an even match. Le is 3 time world San Shou champion with a standing game that is rivaled by none, legs are like baseball bats, great hands - his kick punch combos are beautiful. If you haven’t seen a Cung Le San Shou fight, do it - his throws and flying scissor takedowns are amazing. Apparently he is also a great wrestler, and has and is training BJJ. Over all I think Cung has an advantage on his feet, but the question is could he neutralize a Silva takedown. On the ground Silva has the advantage. I like both fighters, lets hope it happens (in or out of the UFC).
Ok, now this is a stretch, but I think it’s funny. Cung Le beat Frank Shamrock, who beat Phil Baroni, who beat Ryo Chonan, who beat Anderson Silva… So by that you could deduce Le could beat Silva : )
April 2nd, 2008 at 8:51 pm
Ryo was a long time ago & I think today Silva would win easily. I also have to say, Silva has fought & beaten all the top fighters, something Cung has yet to do

Re-match??? Ha! Don’t make me laugh. Shamrock was no match for Cung Le. He was dominated for every second of every round. The only highlight for him was when he landed that one stray shot on Le’s chin. And yes, he did try to take Le down. Except, guess what? Le got out of it with ease. Le is a phenomenal wrestler, much better than Frank. He just doesn’t know alot of the submissions yet. That’s why he didn’t want to go down to Frank(a submission specialist) even when Shamrock waved him down to join him.
Kidrockya, are u kidding me? He hasn’t beaten the top fighters? You don’t happen to have an extra chromosome do u? Cung has 4 world title belts now and he has yet to card a single loss for his sanshou or mma. Only someone totally retarded or doesn’t know a thing about Cung Le would say some stupid shit like that.
April 3rd, 2008 at 9:42 am
No disrespect to Cung but he has a long way to go. No disrespect to Msombody but Silva is a much better striker than Le. He’s more accurate, much faster, and hits a lot harder. I’ve seen most of Le’s fights and his sanshou bouts are impressive but a lot of mma fighters have won titles outside of mma. A belt doesn’t count for much.
April 3rd, 2008 at 5:26 pm
Yes PK. If you havent noticed, UFC is the top organization right now. Le isnt in it. Almost every UFC fighter is versed in submissions. As you said Cung doesnt know submissions well. You obviously dont know as much as you think, obvious since you know SO MUCH about lesser organizations LMAO Your a retard bigmouth
April 3rd, 2008 at 5:29 pm
P.S. Frank has acl issues & thats why you didnt see Cung hit the mat. Dive in takedaowns are hell on an acl
April 7th, 2008 at 6:07 am
great comeback, fucktard. In case u haven’t noticed, i’ve already called u a retard. Guess what bitch? K1 was THE place every fighter wanted to go to when the UFC was still in its infant stages. Thats where he’s still undefeated. He also used to fight in the IKF, the Largest Kickboxing Sanctioning Body in the World and is where he still has his undefeated world title. One of MANY. Just because the only organisation YOU have only heard of is the UFC, it doesn’t make the organisations “much lesser”
Get your facts straight fucknut and come back with a better comeback and not just a repeat of what I called you.
And just to make it clear everyone, i reckon the UFC is great. But it does not have all of the best fighters in their ranks. Dana white, the dumb fuck makes sure of that by insulting great fighters like fedor emelianenko. And yes, I think Silva could be one of the best for sure. He’s young, precise and has lethal knees. Can Cung match up to him? Well, he is 35years old but still looks as fit as a 22 year old. And he also has precise lethal moves up his sleeve. I guess it’s just a fight we have to sit back and hope will come to fruition.
And one more thing, Kidrockya, you’re still a retarded muppet with an oversized carrot up your arse, so high up it touches your pea sized brain and disables your capacity(if you had any to begin with) to come up with an original comeback.
April 10th, 2008 at 5:42 am
haha, PK buddy you are awesome!
Kidrockya got his ass handed to him on a platter
hahahahahhahha… your last line, absolute GOLD!!
April 10th, 2008 at 10:39 pm
Give me a fucking break you guys. You all make it sound as if you’re close personal friends with Le and Silva. Who knows who would win. Everyone thought Crocop would dominate the UFC and he got his ass handed to him. The UFC is a totally different ballgame. The skill level is pretty much the same as most other organizations but the pressure to perform is a 1000 times higher. Silva is there and Le is not. The edge has to go to Silva. As for Fedor I don’t blame Dana White for not setting a match with Couture right of the bat. Lets see Fedor kick some ass first and then set the match. That’s way more interesting and you never know, Fedor might lose to an unknown fighter. I love watching the guy fight but he’s due for a loss and it would most likely happen in the UFC.
April 14th, 2008 at 9:49 am
You dam dummys only reason why Cung Le won was becasue Shamrock kept to his word and did not try and take him down!!! If Shamrock shooted and took him down, this fight would have been over in round 1
April 22nd, 2008 at 3:55 pm
I have to said thank you for the fight (Le&Frank )it war a good fight.I am watching this fight for 10 times ,for the fact Le better in that fight WIN IS WIN NO EXC
April 24th, 2008 at 2:01 pm
overall i think it was a great fight. i’ve always been a fan of cung’s precise striking however i expected more of him he almost got beaten and i think if frank would’ve taken him to the ground he might have gotten the victory. oh and as far him going to the ufc he would dominate it but would lose to anderson silva. he would probably get beaten by nate marquat and rich fanklin to.
May 1st, 2008 at 2:16 am
This was a staged stand up… For the fans, they sign contyracts to NOT go to the ground… Looks like contact WWF to me…
May 1st, 2008 at 4:12 pm
yo insider how the fuck you know that? I give it to frank for taken pain like A man for a minute but a true fighter would have finished like ali against norten, with a broke jaw. it takes hart to take an ass whopen before dishonnor. also only nut hug’n fags go to the ground on purpose.
September 2nd, 2008 at 8:16 am
Nothing against UFC but the only reason that ufc is so big is that they have a billionaire owner, when you have that you can get some of the better fighters. The only thing I keep thinking is that le is still up and coming, and training everyday. We will need to set back and see if he can be as good at the ground game as he is with his stand up in time.
You can’t say that you don’t like seeing those amazing kicks!?
September 24th, 2008 at 4:35 pm
UFC is the Daddy of them all and always will be. As for Le, he will end up in the UFC.
