i don’t know, he didn’t even come close to making weight… He’s good, but how good would he have been if he had to shed another 6 pounds… Probably pretty weak. He shouldn’t be trying to fight at this weight class…

he couldn’t even make weight. if you ask me he is a middle weight trying way to hard to be welter.

I don’t think he should be all that happy about this win… Making weight is the very minimal a fighter is expected to do… He was well into the middleweight class AT WEIGH IN, so after he replenished his fluids he was fighting as a big middleweight… Props to Yoshida for fighting him anyway, but missing your cut by 6lbs should be humiliating…

I’ve got to agree w/ Drew on this one. If Johnson had to shed those 6 pounds in order for the fight to go on, how good would he had been then. Yoshiyuki made weight but maybe he had to shed 6 pounds the previous night to do so. Shedding that much weight so fast in order to make weight will absolutely drain you. Thus, if you have never done give it a try. One day go max out on bench press. Then when your done maxing, do a ton of cardio and sweating until you have lost 6 pounds in a 24 hour period. Once you have lost the weight, go to the gym and max out on bench press again. Then compare the two maxes.

Rumble’s not ready for a champion such as GSP. In a championship fight you have to make weight. This idiot can’t, thus he should be fighting at 185 w/ Silva. Silva will humble the Rumble Johnson. That was gay.
