I saw where forrest got frustrated and to me he seemed..very gassed from the start. His movements were not at their best AT ALL!!. As for Anderson Silva getting a title shot..i can see where he will but expect losses along the way. Yes,he is a very good fighter, but he is naturally a 185 fighter. Can he beat Rampage..i highly doubt that really Silva hasn’t fought someone with that kinda of boxing defense and style Silva can bob and weeve, but dont forget Rampage can as well and does it very very..him be Rashad..no i cant see that either lyoto…hell no..they are like opposite sides of a coin..lyoto has damn near perfect defense and his counter striking to me is far superior to Silva..Sliva is explosive,Fast, and has great accuracy, but you have to catch the opponent to hit them remember this. Nothing taken from Silva, but something wasn’t right here. I don’t know if it was Griffin’s prep, his nerves, or what, but something wasn’t kosher. That’s no excuse…it’s just if you watch it over a few times, it doesn’t play like a normal Griffin fight, right from the bell. Props to Silva…he’ll kick ass at any weight, but something about this fight just isn’t right. If the jaw thing is true, and it happened during one of the first two shots, then that might be reason to lay down if it’s really bad. But for me, that doesn’t really cover it…perhaps overtraining, who knows. Maybe overconfidence that Silva wouldn’t be able to hang at 205, though Griffin doesn’t exactly look confident. Something was off.

Anyways, Forrest Griffin was a textbook matchup for Anderson Silva, a loose striker who always keeps his chin up (it’s tough but if you leave it out there long enough…KABOOM) during his combinations. Griffin will come out of this fine, anyone who loses to Silva at this point basically gets a free pass, the Spider is basically untouchable to anyone in the UFC at this point. Top flight boxers and kickboxers in MMA don’t stand a chance, the only way you’re going to someone come out and hit Silva clean (and I mean more than once, Forrest) is to get a champion boxer, and I mean a champion like Roy Jones Jr (Circa 1996) and remove leg striking and takedowns from the game.

Silva did mention in his after fight interview that he didn’t have the build( I believe he said weight but it’s all relative) for 205 which is very true especially with the emphasis on weight cutting to be the bigger fighter when entering the octagon, so as much as I like him at 205 where he can show off his speed and accuracy, I’d like to see him get a few consecutive title defenses @ 185 going. Just my opinion.
